Student Cohort Collapse due to Microaggressions: After the dramatic scenario has unfolded to the highest point of conflict, the scene ends and audience members speak directly to the actors in character to ask them about the thoughts and motivations behind their actions.

Student-Teacher Miscommunication and Unconscious Bias: If the same script with the same words are spoken by different actors, and only the gender, ethnicity, privilege, or age of the speaker changes, what do we learn about bias in the ways we listen and the subtle interpersonal dynamics in our professional interactions?

Graduate Student Instructor Training for Inclusive Classroom Teaching: Training content for BIT workshops are always tailored to address the unique needs of each audience. Berkeley Interactive Theater was founded in 2008 as a UC Berkeley Campus Theater Company “to serve, educate, and train staff, faculty, administration, and students in the complex arenas of race, class, sexuality, ability, and status.” Their work is known for delivering excellent customized-learning theater experiences, based on research drawn from focus groups, shaped in collaboration with community members, and presented to audiences in an interactive style.
